Having fun creating mosaics

Newly finished mosaics

Hull City of Culture 2017 school mosaic benches

Had great fun creating these mosaic benches with Bude Park Primary school children during November.

Funded to connect the children with Hull City of Culture 2017 the benches feature iconic buildings and industries associated with Hull including The Deep, the trawling industry, the Ferens Gallery, Guild Hall, City Hall, the tidal barrier, Humber Bridge, seagulls, cream KCOM telephone box, KCOM stadium, a map of Hull, a wind turbine, Queens Gardens fountain, Hull Heraldic shield…I think that’s everything!

School mosaic – St Anthony’s RC Primary School

Great week (last week) working with over 200 children at St Anthony’s RC Primary School in Beeston, Leeds.

This mosaic reflects the school values and colours and will hang in the new prayer garden.

The mosaic was created to link in with a themed week ‘We have more in Common’ in memory of Jo Cox.

A busy few mosaic weeks…

It’s been a busy few mosaic weeks, with the launch of the City of Culture Hull 2017 collaborative project with BAMM North. This installation of over 100 mosaic birds created in workshops with the local community and by artists now resides in Hull Paragon Interchange for one year.

I have also enjoyed a great mosaic workshop at my home studio in Huttons Ambo, near York.

And I am currently working all week with St Antony’s RC Primary School in Leeds to produce a prayer garden wall mosaic…photos to follow.

Work also in progress for my collaborative exhibition entitled ‘Re:defined’:
