Mosaics with Sue Kershaw – commissions and workshops

December 9, 2019

It’s been a really busy period creating a series of five mosaics for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, working with five primary schools in the Athersley area. The mosaics will be installed in the street as part of a large regeneration project.

I have also been creating a large wall mosaic for Fairlawns Hotel and Spa in Walsall near Birmingham – photos to follow soon – grout currently drying!

Workshops have included a 21st birthday party, large corporate away day for North Yorkshire Building Control and Planning, and regular Saturday workshops in Huttons Ambo near York.

It was an incredibly varied mosaic workshop on Saturday with outdoor bowls, spheres, house numbers and plaques created using both the direct and indirect method. One mosaic also created personal keepsakes making a truly original mosaic.

And the greatest delight was to have four generations from one family creating mosaics together.

If you would like to learn how to create a mosaic here are some dates for 2020 in Huttons Ambo, Near York, North Yorkshire. .
